Spring
Tulips between the trees, young leaves glowing in morning light. Squirrels play in the branches and the birds sing their hearts out.
Named after the goldfinches that call this place home. A forest cabin hidden in nature near Ommen, surrounded by birds, flowers and wildlife.
Our forest cabin sits deep in the woods on the edge of Ommen, bordering the protected Junner Koeland nature reserve. A charming sandy path through the forest leads you to the cabin, where you can park on your own private grounds.
The cabin offers every comfort: a spacious kitchen, cosy living room with wood-burning stove and sliding doors to the garden, a modern bathroom and comfortable bedrooms. Here you experience ultimate tranquillity.
The same forest, four faces — every season gives De Putter its own character.
Tulips between the trees, young leaves glowing in morning light. Squirrels play in the branches and the birds sing their hearts out.
Long evenings on the terrace, the scent of pine and warm sand. The Vecht river is around the corner — perfect for a swim or a canoe trip.
A palette from ochre to fiery red. Mushrooms appear beneath the moss and the wood stove is finally busy again.
Silence under a layer of frost, steaming coffee by the fire. When snow falls, the forest becomes a postcard for a morning.

Yes, very suitable. There's a children's room with bunk bed, a trampoline in the garden. The fenced garden is safe, and there are plenty of games, books and puzzles. Tip: 5 flamingos are hidden in the house — we won't say where 🦩.
No dogs, unfortunately. We have two cats of our own who come along occasionally, and dogs frighten the wildlife in the garden (squirrels, birds, and occasionally deer).
No, we do the dishes here the old-fashioned way, by hand. Dish soap and tools are in the under-sink cabinet. There's a big sink and plenty of draining space — nothing a cup of coffee can't solve 😉
Yes, free WiFi (Odido) throughout the cabin. Fast enough for email, streaming, video calls and some remote work. Keep in mind this is a forest — not fibre speed, but plenty for everything except heavy 4K streaming.
Two bedrooms. The main bedroom has a double bed 200×160, the children's room has a bunk bed with two 200×90 mattresses. Extra duvets and pillows in the drawer under the bed. Beds are made up on arrival.
The supermarkets in Ommen (Albert Heijn, Jumbo) are about 4 km away — a 5-10 minute drive. Also cyclable via the quiet country roads.
Yes, please do! Firewood is in the shed (left = still drying, right = ready to burn). Firelighters on the mantel. Tip: turn the central heating down when the stove is lit — otherwise it gets sauna-hot.
We have a fair standard cancellation policy: more than 60 days before → almost full refund (€25 admin fee), 30-60 days → 50%, 14-30 days → 25%, less → no refund. Details on the terms page. A cheap travel insurance covers illness and surprises.
No problem, email Jan at janvanwaveren@gmail.com — usually replies within a day.
No middleman, no extra fees. Personal contact and everything included.
✓ All included. No surprises at check-in — the price you see here is the price you pay (plus the one-time cleaning fee). Only the outdoor sauna is optional: € 69 per stay including the first crate of firewood, each extra crate € 15.
